MTRE would like to present to you the highlights of our offering to an additional arena in which we are starting to play a very significant role – the NICU.
Moderate to severe Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) continues to be an important cause of acute neurological injury at birth, occurring in 2 to 6 cases per 1000 term live births. (Varies between different countries) .
Several trials are demonstrating the safety and efficacy of whole-body cooling in infants with HIE. The cooling therapy can improve neurological recovery, can reduce the rate of death and the rate of moderate or severe disabilities. (See references 1 and 2.)
CritiCool and CureWrap
The solution we offer is based on the "CritiCool" as a control unit and the "Infant CureWrap" as a heat exchanger. The infant "CureWrap" is a unique solution available in a range of models suitable for all infants .
Bellow you can see a graph presenting a 72 h cooling therapy of a baby from the UK, using the CritiCool and the infant CureWrap. The straight line is demonstrating the impressive efficacy we are bringing to the NICU.
